Before/After Images: Step by step to before/after photo comparison
In our project
www.SwissGlaciers.org we create photo comparisons from existing photos in the following steps:
Select input folder
After starting Before/After Images, the input folder must be selected. The input folder is the folder into which the image files to be processed for photo comparison have been copied.
Underlined in red in the screenshot is the important area of Before/After Images for this step.
Load main image
Click on the red underlined icon and select the main image.
Load comparison images
Click on the red underlined icon and select the comparison image.
Set reference points 1
Click the left red underlined icon and set refernce point 1 in the main image.
Click the right red underlined icon and set reference point 1 in the comparison image.
Set reference points 2
Click the left red underlined icon and set refernce point 2 in the main image.
Click the right red underlined icon and set reference point 2 in the comparison image.
Positioning and previewing comparison images
Click on the red underlined icon and wait until the preview is displayed as shown above.
Select section
Click yellow line -> color of the line changes to orange (= selected).
Grab and move line with cursor.
The selection list above the preview can be used to determine which positioned photo is to be displayed.
Prepare image storage
Saving image files
After clicking on the icon underlined in red, the cropped and possibly reduced image files are saved in the output folder.
Displaying a folder with saved image data
After clicking on the red underlined button the content of the output folder is displayed in Windows Explorer.
Save project settings
After clicking on the icon underlined in red, the dialog opens, in which location and file name can be selected for saving the project settings.
