.NET 8
Before/After Images was changed to the latest version of the .NET framework with 'long-term support' (= 3 years). The instructions for downloading and installing .NET 8 can be found here...
Suche nach neuer Software
- The dialog for searching for a new version of Before/After Images now contains a link that can be used to access the Before/After Images: What's new? page of www.obeng.ch directly.
- If a new version is available, information about the new version is displayed. For example, which version of .NET the new version of Before/After Imagesü requires for operation.

Saving the files
If existing files are affected by saving the image files, a new dialog is displayed in which you can specify which files are to be overwritten and which are not.

Lettering, copyright and watermarks
Now the viewing angle and the viewing direction in the centre of the image are calculated and displayed from the values entered by the user for the start and end angles.
Sharpening the photos
With a switch, the settings of the current photo can now be transferred to all other photos.

Worked on:

Labeling, copyright and watermark
With the help of the new functions, the comparison photos / repeat photos can be provided with the following features:
- Scale with cardinal points
- Copyright notice and
- Vertical lines (= watermarks).

The new functions are designed for an output height of the comparison photos / repeat photos of approx. 300 to 500px. In one of the next versions parameters like font size, color, etc. will be adjustable.

Sharpen bitmaps
The sharpening of the comparison photos / repeat photos has been revised. The new function sharpens the bitmaps better and faster than the previous function.

All texts displayed on the user interface are now provided by a central component. Previously, this component provided about 50% of all texts.

Before/After Images V3.01

Already implemented are:

Options logging
With this new option the extended logging can be switched on/off.
Advanced logging is used for troubleshooting.
Menu item ? / Show log file
This menu item can be used to display the log file in the standard software for TXT files.
Folder selection
- When this Windows standard dialog is called up, the last selected folder is displayed in the visible area.
- Description added to each folder.

Before/After Images V3.00

Version 3.00 will be executable with the licence codes of V2.nn.

The following adjustments and extensions have been made so far:

Keyboard support in the 'Preparations' tab
- Reference points can be moved with arrow keys.

Preferences folder and general values
The preferences for folders and general values have been extended.The additional presets are the result of the experiences we have made in our daily work with the software Before / After Images. The new presets allow you to create photo comparisons more efficiently.

New workflow
The workflow has been changed in the new Version: New all photos of a image comparison must be loaded from the same folder(=input folder). The finished photos stored are all in the same folder (= output folder).
Multiple comparisons
With the new version of Before/After Images multiple comparisons can be made.
Example: The eight photos of before / after image comparisonof the Rhone glacier were produced in one step.

General
Smaller optical adjustments to the icons. The icons should now be clear.
Tab Preview
The toolbar contains an additional icon. This icon allows the direct storage of the processed image files.
Tab Storage
- With a new switch, Windows Explorer can be started. Windows Explorer shows the contents of the folder in which the processed images were stored.
- With two new switches, the name of the output files can be generated from the options defined in the output folder and the name of the input file.
