Before/After Images: Use in GletscherVergleiche.ch / SwissGlaciers.org
This page describes all the steps required for creating the repeat images. Also those steps which are not implemented with the Before/After Images software.
Workflow
Production of the repeat photos in the project GletscherVergleiche.ch / SwissGlaciers.org
Photography in the field
The more precisely the individual photos are taken in the field, the more accurate the resulting repeat photos will be. Attention must be paid to the following points, among others:
- Shooting location
The shooting location should be chosen, so that it
- can be easily found again.
- is likely to still exist in a few years.
- is in +/- stable environment.
- Position camera
The shots should always be taken from as close to the same point as possible. In our project, we try to position the camera accurately to +/- 20cm (X, Y and Z direction).
- Alignment of the camera
During the shot, the camera should be kept plumb as accurately as possible in the vertical and horizontal directions.
Prepare panoramic photos
Various programs are used to create and prepare the panoramic photos from the individual photos. Among others:
- Inhouse-Tools
- Panorama-Software
- Photo Editing Software Photoshop
